Our client is Gardner Aerospace, one of the UK’s largest and best performing aerospace metallic manufactured details suppliers. With over 1000 employees and nine manufacturing sites, Gardner is of the size required to be at the forefront of the accelerating trend in the aerospace manufacturing sector towards the establishment of fewer, larger suppliers, who are able to work in close partnership with their customers and deliver the leveraged benefits of scale.

For our growing up site in Mielec we are currently looking for candidates for a position of:

Operations Manager

Location: Mielec

The Operations Manager will be responsible for manufacturing operating budgets and ensuring the Company’s production orders are achieved. The role includes responsibility for all site production, supply chain, production engineering and maintenance. Successful management of continuous improvement activities will be a key aspect in achievement of productivity targets, output quality and cost reduction.

 

Key accountabilities:

  • Management and development of the key operations functions : production, supply chain and engineering
  • Introduce modern production management techniques
  • Set and achieve demanding production targets
  • Monitor the achievements of subordinate team members and strive to consistently improve working practices
  • Plan and oversee departmental budgets
  • Prepare monthly reports to the Site Director and UK Management as necessary
  • Ensure that good working relationships are developed and maintained with customers and key subcontractors

Candidate profile:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar manufacturing capacity ideally gained in aerospace or automotive companies
  • Degree in engineering
  • Ideally some experience of working for an international organisation
  • Familiarity with modern metal cutting and associated finishing processes
  • Proficient in English –both verbally and in writing
  • Good IT literacy with some experience of working with ERP management systems
  • Comfortable in managing projects to demanding cost and time targets
  • Open approachable leadership style with good communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure
